About this learning pathway

Welcome to AI Discoverers.

Elementary learners explore where AI appears in everyday life while building curiosity, creativity, and safe technology habits.

Students recognize patterns, ask thoughtful questions, and learn to use AI responsibly.

Scope & sequence

What students learn, unit by unit

Grades 3–5 core • 45–60 minutes per week

Week 1 — AI Detectives: What Is AI?

Distinguish AI, fixed-rule tools, and cases where more evidence is needed; map input, pattern, output, and the person responsible.

Week 2 — Responsible AI Superpowers

Practice privacy, honesty, kindness, safe choices, and when to stop or check with a trusted adult.

Week 3 — Pattern Builders

Explore how labeled examples shape patterns and why incomplete examples can produce weak results.

Week 4 — Truth Trackers

Check confident-sounding claims with teacher-approved evidence and explain why an AI response is not its own proof.

Week 5 — Fairness Lab

Notice when a recommendation may work better for some people than others and suggest a fairer process.

Week 6 — Create for Good

Start with a real need, decide whether AI is appropriate, map human responsibility, and explain a helpful solution idea.
